Harp

Sian Cornelius
The Harp
(Gwenny)

Everything I play is improvised, it's the feel of the story and moment, that I play. I'll never play the same thing twice, there's similarities, but its never the same.

I learned to play the harp after telling stories on the LlÅ·n Peninsula.
It was right at the very beginning of storytelling, I was performing with the lovely Dafydd, he offered to play the harp for me and said "Say Ynys Mon a couple of times over the harp at the beginning,
I'll come back in with the harp gently near the end, they'll be 'gone'".

And he was right, everyone there was 'gone', lost in another world, including me. Every time I told a story after that there was something missing, I finally realised it was the harp.
